The Hits Keep Coming

It seems the "Governator" can't get a break these days...and we couldn't be happier!

Schwarzenegger backed off yet another proposal today, acknowledging his plan to re-district state legislative districts by 2006 is going nowhere. Re-districting traditionally takes place after each census to account for population shifts, unless of course you have Tom DeLay backing the plan, and hey, who wouldn't want to be compared to Tom DeLay these days...

Meanwhile, Arnold's hand picked state education secretary resigned today. Richard Riordan, now pushing 180 years old, announced his resignation amidst polls that indicate the public's faith in the administration's education policies is at an all time low. Teachers and parents are angry and it seems Riordan was served up as the sacrificial lamb. The office of education secretary is redundant and powerless as you may know, the real power lying with the elected State Superintendent of Public Instruction Jack O'Connell (D).
